Jorge Vidal
Saludos, I am Jorge Vidal, Founder and Cultural & Healing Facilitator @Intercambios_transformation
I am a son, brother, and partner to a wonderful husband. My journey as an immigrant, Peruvian, and gay individual with various intersecting identities has fueled my passion for social justice grounded in cultura, healing, and economic justice. Over my two decades of experience, I have advocated for cultural organizations and leaders and built and led programs in New York, Puerto Rico, Connecticut, Florida, Washington D.C., Mexico, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
My work within the domestic violence and HIV/AIDS movement has included roles such as race equity consultant, leadership coach, fundraising, masculinity advisor, and cultural consultant for various non-profit organizations. These organizations include those led by Black, Indigenous, Transgender, Queer, and Brown individuals, as well as universities, VOCA funders, health departments, and domestic/sexual violence coalitions, among others.”
In this work, I contribute with both corazon and a blend of formal and informal education. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, completed a Somatic Certification program at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, obtained Ceremonia and Ritual certification in Mexico, and am currently pursuing a certificate in Building Communities of Peace with a focus on conflict resolution.
I value and fight the undermining of the heart-to-heart connection that often is overlooked in our work.
